2017 Taiwan Tea, Coffee and Wine Expo

The 2017 Taiwan Tea, Coffee and Wine Expo was a 4 day event ending on November 20 and was held at the Nangang Expo Center.  This is the second year that I attended and I highly recommend it.  Free samples of coffee, tea and alcohol for 8 hours is about as good as it gets.  This is a huge event that is on 2 floors.  When you get your fill of alcohol on the first floor you can move to the second floor and drink coffee until you recover.

There is every imaginable coffee and tea machine making processes that you can imagine.  So many free samples. In Chinese when they say wine it means alcohol beverage so that includes whiskey, beer and so on.  Craft beer is starting to get popular and I tried some.  Most places give very small samples and that is really good because you can get hundreds of free samples and you don’t want to fill up.  But I did get lucky with accidental timing. Martel had a taste testing of 5 different products. Only about 20 people were allowed in.  They gave you a big glass, passed the sample bottles around and you poured your own.  They explained each product in Chinese so I got zero out of that but…wow the product was good…pour your own…how can you beat that!

2 other highlights. 1. I saw my friend Richard the owner of iFree Cafe who was presenting there. 2. I tried some 92% liquor.  That is hard to believe. They gave me instructions in English on how to drink it and basically said that if I didn’t follow the instructions that it could be fatal:)

There were also free snack samples, I even had a piece of pizza.  If you are in the mood to buy the last day you get the best deals.  Also the last day is a Monday so there is a smaller crowd.
