Linji (Rinzai) Huguo Zen Temple

Most temples in Taiwan are Taoist or a combination of Taoist and Buddhist.  What makes this Temple special is that it is a stand alone Buddhist Temple and it is made of wood, very “Japanese”.  It is a designated historic site but is actively used as place of worship.   It is worth taking a look at because it is easy to get to and there are a number of interesting places in the area that when combined can create a day of sight seeing.  Just go to the Yuanshan MRT stop, get on the east side of the tracks and walk 1 block north.
