Taiwanese Many Banded Krait

December 11, 2019 Climbing Guanyin Mountain in the Bali District of New Taipei City. It was my first time to see a Taiwnese Many Banded Krait Snake. We just had such cold temperatures that this snake should have been in hibernation. I was climbing before sunrise in the dark. I suggest wearing a head lamp and watch where you are stepping.
It is hard to see the snake in the photo as most of it was hidden as it moved away. Here is some information regarding this snake.

The many-banded krait (Bungarus multicinctus), also known as the Taiwanese krait or the Chinese krait, is a highly venomous species of elapid snake found in much of central and southern China and Southeast Asia.
The many-banded krait is a medium to large sized species of snake, averaging 1 to 1.5 m (3.3 to 4.9 ft) in length, with maximum lengths reaching 1.85 m (6.1 ft).
The snake appears from April and retreats into hibernation in November.
