The Museum of World Religions is ranked as #79 of 531 things to do in New Taipei City. It is located at 236 Zhongshan Road in the Yonghe District. It is easy to miss because it is on the 6th and 7th floors of the building so it does not have a very big street presence.
This is the second time that I have been to this museum. My fascination with it is that it has an exhibit of the Maya Religion. They show a photo of a Maya pyramid from the ruin of Chichen Itza. I visited that ruin located in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico 4 times over a 35 year time span. That pyramid is now one of 10 wonders of the world. I was inside it and climbed it on several occasions decades ago but now that it is one of the 10 wonders of the world you can only look at it. Another coincidental experience that I had was that I held the only surviving copy of the Popul Vuh (the Mayan Bible which was hand written in the year 1700) in my hand. It has been housed in the Newberry Library in Chicago for over a hundred years. I held it shortly before it was digitized in about 2006. It was a special experience that can never be repeated.
They also have a photo of the Lingyun Buddhist Temple located in Taiwan that I made a blog post of 3 years ago that you can check out.
