International Village?

The amount of construction going on in the Linkou District of New Taipei City is hard to believe. Every time that I come back it is so different. The shopping mall and some government buildings seem to be getting close to completion. The TV Station building is progressing, new building complexes are popping up everywhere. In addition to all of this there is a massive project that I tried to take a look at. All new construction is fenced so if you are close you can’t see anything and now with all the tall buildings if you are far away you still can’t see anything. So I moved around trying to get a grip on how big this new complex is and I really couldn’t count how many buildings there are. I took photos of what I could see and a short video. Information that I got from a local is that this is a 30 building project that will be the “International Village”. This is where they will house athletes from around the world who will come here to train for international events like the Olympics. It is hard for me to imagine all of this construction being done simultaneous.
