Sky Lanterns

There are a number of places in Taiwan that are famous for Sky Lanterns. Several of those places such as Shifen, Pingxi and Jingtong are located on the Pingxi Train Line. The Pingxi Line has 7 stops. This historic train line is very popular with tourists especially on the weekends. Several movies have been shot along this historic line. It is strange because the main street in Shifen is the railroad track itself. People line the street launching sky lanterns. When a train comes the track is cleared of people and when the train leaves everyone goes back. The photos and video are taken in Shifen.
